Saturday, August 17, 2013 - Karachi—A number of Sp and SSP ranked police officers that had been demoted in compliance to the orders of the Supreme Court Pakistan had not yet been relieved of their duties and the Police department and the Sindh Home department had yet to post police officers of the caliber of the posts. However, those demoted had already stopped attending their offices but the charge of those special branches of Police departments including Special investigation Unit (SIU) Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) and Criminal Investigation Agency (CID) had become non-operational due to delay in replacement of officers.

Those that had this week been demoted to their original ranks included SSP CID Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam (now DSP), SSP CID Fayyaz Khan (now Sub-inspector), SSP Raja Umer Khattab (now Inspector), SSP Mazhar Mishwani (now Sub-Inspector), SP Chaudhry Safdar (now Inspector), SP Ali Raza (now Inspector) and SSP Rao Anwar (now inspector). It is pertinent to mention that the Sindh Home department had Tuesday implemented the remaining orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) for reverting those officers in Police services, who were given out of turn promotions.

In this regard, the twelve Sp and SSP rank police officers were asked by the Sindh provincial government to continue working in their present positions while all others weer either demoted or sent back to their previous positions. Those that were now demoted to their original ranks included Superintendent of Police, CID (SP) Chaudhry Aslam, SP Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) Farooq Awan, Niaz Khoso, SP CID Muhammad Fayyaz Khan, SP Raja Umar Khattab, Amir Hameed, Muhammad Wasiq Qureshi, Rao Muhammad Aslam, Usman Asghar, Mazhar Mishwani, Chaudhry Ghulam Safdar and Ali Raza. It is pertinent to mention that there were a total of 59 SP and SSP rank officers whom the orders had covered and twelve including SSP Niaz Khosso, SSP Farooq Awan, SSP Fayyaz Khan, SSP Mazhar Mishwani and Raja Umer Khattab and others asked to continue with their present ranks that were also because of out of turn promotions.
