Pro-hartal activists clashed with police in different districts during yesterday’s countrywide dawn-to-dusk hartal enforced by Jamaat, leaving four people including two cops injured in Sirajganj.

In a sudden attack around 10:00am, two crude bombs were hurled at the on-duty policemen at Bakua in Ullapara upazila, said Officer-in-Charge Habibul Islam of Ullapara Police Station.

Sporadic clashes between law enforcers and hartal supporters followed the incident. Two Shibir men were wounded when police fired rubber bullets to break up the mob.

The two cops are Sub-Inspector Nuruzzaman and Constable Abu Sayed of the police station. One of the two Shibir men is Ayub Ali. The name of the other could not be known.

Pro-hartal activists skirmished with police several times in different parts of Bogra.
