An official of the National Highways and Motorways Police (NH&MP) are allegedly depriving farmers from their agricultural fields in district Naushero Feroz, Pakistan Today has learnt.
Interestingly, when these growers twice approached the high-ups of the NH&MP, including inspector general and the deputy inspector general, no action was taken on their complaints.

A source in the NH&MP said the land owners were running from pillar to post to get justice. He also said Patrolling Officer Sub Inspector Ghulam Mustafa, son of Ghulam Murtaza, NH&MP N-5 beat 29 Kandiaro, was also wanted by the Kandiaro police in a double-murder case. However, the accused got a pre-arrest bail and was using his influence and the police were also supporting him to grab land in Kandiaro.

Farmer, Azizullah, a resident of Karim Shah Colony, Kandiaro, Naushero Feroz, lodged a complaint with the NH&MP IG, Islamabad against Mustafa a few months ago, but to no avail.

“Mustafa was deputed to NH&MP some time ago and transferred from Karachi to his native area Kandiaro. An FIR (166/2010) is registered against him in Kandiaro police station under Sections 302, 147, 148, 114, 109,” according to a complaint available with the Pakistan Today.

State Bank of Pakistan official, Abdul Jabbar, had also lodged a complaint with the NH&MP DIG, but no action was taken against the patrolling officer so far.

“After his [Ghulam Mustafa] posting in native area he always involves himself in matters of relatives. He abuses his powers and status and forces others to follow him in their private affairs,” reads an application.

“My cousins Ghulam Rasool and Ghulam Nabi intended to sell their agricultural land. They preferred to sell it to us as I am a shareholder in Khata in revenue record and their land is adjacent to our land. Ghulam Mustafa forced our family to sell the same agricultural land to him. When we refused he illegally occupied and cultivated it. The matter was solicited before elders in village where he and his father agreed to vacate the land but did not fulfill their promise,” it added.

When contacted, NH&MP DIG Waliullah Dal refused to comment.
