The officials of New Panvel police station have been assured of a 'certificate of appreciation' by new police commissioner K L Prasad for improving their work system.

According to senior inspector of New Panvel police station, Sunil Bajare, irrespective of the jurisdiction, any complaint is first registered in the station diary. He added that if the complainant is unable to come to the police station, then the police go to their house or the crime spot to note their statement for registering a FIR.

"Crimes against women and children are being given priority. If we receive a phone call about a crime, we reach the spot in 10 minutes," he said.
