Human right officers get in police stations

Islamabad Police have appointed Human Right Officers (HROs) at 18 police stations of the Capital with an objective to promote friendly policing, check illegal detention and protect rights of public.

A press note issued from media cell of Islamabad capital territory Police quoted Inspector General of Police Sikandar Hayat as saying after appointment of HROs in police stations of Islamabad. The IGP said that decision to appoint HROs was made for immediate resolution of public complaints, change environment in police stations and bridge gap between police and public.  He said HROs would resolve complaints of minor nature and ensure fair investigation into cases as per satisfaction of complainants without any discrimination.

Bhara Kahu police station, SI Alamgir Khan at Margallah police station, SI Muhammad Ejaz at Golra police station, SI Manzoor Ahmed at Shalimar police station, SI Muhammad Feeroz at Tarnol police station, SI Falak Naz at Ramana police station, SI Saif Ullah at Industrial area police station, SI Muhammad Athar Khan at Sabzi

Mandi police station, SI Qaim Ali Shah at Shehzad town police station, SI Abdul Sattar at Koral police station, SI Muhammad Gulfaraz at Sihala police station, SI Muhammad Shafique at Loi Bher police station, SI Muhammad Arshraf at Bani Gala police station, SI
Muhammad Shafique at Nilore police station and SI Muhammad Ishfaq at Women police station.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Sikandar Hayat while addressing the HROs hoped that their appointment would help improving the efficiency of Capital police and make it more people- friendly with focus on protection of human rights.

The IGP said that purpose of appointing HROs is to provide immediate relief to the citizens and check violation of human rights.
