RAJKOT: Aiming to reach out to women and senior citizens, Rajkot city police has decided to launch an exclusive website for these two sections of the society. Women and senior citizens will now be able to take up issues concerning them with the police authorities through this website.

City police commissioner H P Singh said the website will be launched in the next few days. "The idea behind starting the website is that women and senior citizen need not visit any police station or the commissioner's office personally to relate their grievances. They can just log into our new website and write in detail about the problems being faced by them and we will respond immediately," Singh told TOI.

He said the police personnel will visit the applicants at the earliest on receiving the complaints.

The website will have two separate cells named women protection cell and senior citizens cell.

"We will also upload all the contact numbers of city police and senior officials besides the helpline numbers so that women and senior citizens can call up in time of need," police inspector V B Jadeja of Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) of Rajkot police said.
